Selenium Disadvantages

• Browser support only available in Firefox.
• Test Execution is slow compared to Selenium WebDriver and Selenium RC.
• Selenium IDE is designed only to create prototype of tests , only for record and playback.
• No support for iteration and conditional operations.
• Selenium IDE do not support Database testing.
• Selenium IDE doesn't support error handling.

SELENIUM RC

        Selenium RC is the first automated web testing tool which allows users to use a programming languages they prefer unlike Selenium IDE.  It was the flagship testing framework of the whole Selenium project for a long time. Selenium RC works in such a way that the client libraries can communicate with the Selenium RC Server passing each Selenium command for execution. Then the server passes the Selenium command to the browser using Selenium-Core JavaScript commands.
